The Beauty of Quran

“This is the Book (the Quran), whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who are Al-Muttaqoon
[the pious]
[Quran Al-Baqarah 2:2]

Whoever reads a letter from the Book of Allah, he will have a reward. And that reward will be multiplied by ten. I am not saying that “Alif, Laam, Meem” is a letter, rather I am saying that “Alif” is a letter, “laam” is a letter and “meem” is a letter.” So increase your recitation of the Qur’an to gain these merits, and to gain the following merit as well.

‘Uthmaan, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alaihi wa sallam) said:
The best of you are the ones who learn the Qur’an and teach it to others”

Mysteries of the Brain: Uncovered with Qur'an hundreds of years ago

No!  If he does not stop, We will take him by the naseyah (front of the head), a lying, sinful naseyah (front of the head)!  (Quran, 96:15-16)

If we look into the skull at the front of the head, we will find the prefrontal area of the cerebrum (see figure 12).  What does physiology tell us about the function of this area?  A book entitled Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology says about this area, “The motivation and the foresight to plan and initiate movements occur in the anterior portion of the frontal lobes, the prefrontal area. This is a region of association cortex...”  Also the book says, “In relation to its invlovement in motivation, the prefrontal area is also thought to be the functional center for aggression....”

So, this area of the cerebrum is responsible for planning, motivating, and initiating good and sinful behavior and is responsible for the telling of lies and the speaking of truth.  Thus, it is proper to describe the front of the head as lying and sinful when someone lies or commits a sin, as the Quran has said, “...A lying, sinful naseyah (front of the head)!”
Scientists have only discovered these functions of the prefrontal area in the last sixty years, according to Professor Keith L. Moore.

Allah says, "And it is We Who have constructed the heaven with might, and verily, it is We Who are steadily expanding it. (Qur'an, 51:47)

 The universe Allah created

Allah, the most high asks,"Were they created from nothing, or are they [themselves] the creators?

It is Allah that created us, but most deny this.

Knowledge you'll love Insha Allah

Women are relationship oriented while men are goal oriented.

Here are some mistakes women and men make in conversations:

A woman follows her natural tendency to offer unsolicited advice, but the man sees it as questioning his competence and ability.
A man follows his natural tendency to offer solutions, but the woman sees it as invalidating her feelings.
Women cope with stress by reaching out and talking while men cope with stress by withdrawing.
Women want to feel cherished; men want to feel needed.
Women want respect and devotion; men want appreciation and admiration.
Here are some other differences she has outlined:

Men live in a world of status; women live in a world of connections.
Men see conversations as negotiations for power; women see them as negotiations for closeness.
Men want to preserve independence; women want to preserve intimacy.
Men seek to win and avoid failure; women seek closeness and avoid isolation.
Men avoid taking orders (since that means low status and loss of independence); women are ok with taking orders (if it is perceived as forming a connection).
Men seek control; women seek understanding.
Men prefer inequality and asymmetry; women prefer equality and symmetry.
Men are adversarial (with conflicting goals); women are synergetic (with common goals).

The amazing effects Qur'an and its recitation has when reading it after fajr.

1) The face is lightened and is more beautiful than before .
2) The body is light and not heavy and sluggish.
3) The person becomes more happy and content.
4) It changes the mood of the person, from being easily annoyed and irritated patient and happy.
5) Dreams become more vivid and clear.
6) household tasks are made easy. You actually want to do it now. Without even being asked.
7)There's more Khushu in the prayer
8) You become more gentle to your family and loving
9) Then your family members want to spend more time with you
10) Your family surrounds you, like they cant get enough of you.
11) When asked to do something by your family you'll do it without fuss
12) You find yourself more helpful ( serving your family member more, thus them loving you more)
13) Your family looks at you as if your a different person now. Like someone they know values them.
14) You get comments like "Your face is beautiful" Tabarakkallah. When you never got that before.

Beauty

The real scientific matter is that, to look at an attractive female is harmful to men’s health. Looking at a beautiful women increases Stress hormones such as cortisol, GH and norepinephrine are released dangerously high levels.

The spanish researchers has found, when men meet with a stranger accompanied by a pretty woman .Then the men view the stranger as their competitor. In this regard, the risks are very high. The cortisol levels rise so high that the possibility of strokes and heart attacks are increased.

Researchers of the University of Valencia took 84 male students for the sake of study. They asked each one to sit in a room and solve a Sudoku puzzle. Two female and two male were in the room.

The two men were sitting together and the two female left the room. When the two female left the room, the volunteer men’s levels of the stress hormone that is cortisol did not increase. But, when a male volunteer was left alone with a female volunteer, the male’s hormone levels rose, as compared by a storm.

Sometimes, the levels of hormone increases so high, the researchers measured those people experienced with when one person jumps out of an airplane. The researchers say that “for most men, the presence of an attractive woman may induce the perception that there is an opportunity for courtship.”

The researchers also described, “This study showed that male cortisol levels increased after exposure to a five-minute, short social contact with a young attractive woman. It provides evidence that interpersonal interaction can influence the secretion of cortisol,”

Irvin Wolkoff ‘Toronto-based psychiatrist’ has said “Adrenaline can give you high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, etc. Cortisol impairs the immune system. So if you maintain elevated levels of cortisol long enough, you will develop infections, and you might even develop malignancies,”

He has also said “It’s not good to be over-stressed for too long. So you need to get out of that room with the beautiful woman pretty quickly,”

Advice: the fact that your a woman is already Attractive for a man. Pounding on the makeup doesnt make a difference trust me. So please. Sister. Cover yourself more and lay of the makeup. We have the power to effect men. and you looking so ATTRACTIVE makes things much much worse. Please have mercy on those brothers.

Shaykh Muhammad al-Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

The hijaab prescribed in sharee’ah means that a woman should cover everything that it is haraam for her to show, i.e., she should cover that which it is obligatory for her to cover, first and foremost of which is the face, because it is the focus of temptation and desire.

A woman is obliged to cover her face in front of anyone who is not her mahram (blood relative to whom marriage is forbidden). From this we learn that the face is the most essential thing to be covered. There is evidence from the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and the views of the Sahaabah and the imams and scholars of Islam, which indicates that women are obliged to cover all of their bodies in front of those who are not their mahrams.

How to defeat shaytan

ow to protect oneself from Shaitan
-------------------------------------

The final safe Haven A fortified fortress of knowledge
-------------------------------------------------------

The Messenger of Allah said , “One faqih (an expert in Islamic jurisprudence) is stronger against Shaitan than a thousand aabid(worshipers). Knowledge should be important for the believers in all aspects of life However the importance of knowledge in opposing Shaitan can be well illustrated in the following story Related by Ibn Abass:

‘The shaitans say to Iblis, “Master we delight in the death of a man of knowledge more than we rejoice in that of a man of worship. We are harmed by the man of Knowledge, but not harmed by the man of worship.” ‘Iblis says,“come on, let’s go.”So of they go to a man of worship and tell him they want to ask him a question. Iblis says, “Can your Lord put the world inside an egg?” “The worshipper replies, “I don’t know.”
‘Iblis says to shaitans, “ don’t you see there is disbelief in his answer? ‘Then they go to a man of knowledge, who is joking in his circle of companions and say, “We want to ask you a question.”’He says, “Ask.”Iblis says to him, “ can your Lord put the world inside an egg?” ‘He says, “Yes.” ‘Iblis asks “How?” ‘The man of knowledge says, “His command when he desires a thing is that He says to it, ‘BE!’AND IT IS.” (Quran36:82)

Iblis says to the shaitans, “Don’t you see that the worshiper has no effect beyond himself while this man of knowledge estranges much of the world from me?”’

Words to say

was narrated by Ahmad that the Prophet (Peace Be upon Him):

“When people accumulate gold and silver, you should accumulate
these words:

‘Allaahumma inni as’aluka al-thabaat fi’l-amr,

wa ‘azeemata ala a-rushd, wa as’aluka shukra ni’matika,

wa husna ‘ibaadatika, wa as’aluka qalban saleeman,

wa as’aluka lisaanan saadiqan, wa as’aluka min khairi ma ta’lam,

wa A’oodhu bika min sharri ma ta’lam,

Wa astaghfiruka mimma ta’lam, innaka anta ‘allam ul-ghuyoob.”

“O Allah, I ask You for steadfastness in this matter, and I ask You for
the resolve toadhere to the path of guidance (i.e., to adhere to all
matters that lead to what which is right and proper), and I ask You to
thank Your blessing, and to worship You properly (i.e., so that I may
perform all acts of worship in a manner that is pleasing to You), and I
ask You for a sound heart, and I ask You for a truthful tongue, and I
ask You from the goodness of what You know, and I seek refuge with
You from the evil of what You know, and I ask You for forgiveness for
that which You know; You are the knower of the Unseen.”
sahih Albaani

Sacred month of Muharram

Whats the Virtue of this month?

Abu Bakrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
"The year is twelve months of which four are sacred, the three consecutive months of Dhu'l-Qa'dah, Dhu'l-Hijjah and Muharram, and Rajab Mudar which comes between Jumada and Sha'ban." [Reported by al-Bukhari, 2958]

Muharram is so called because it is a sacred (muharram) month and to confirm its sanctity.

What do on in this sacred month of Muharram?

Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
"The best fasting after Ramadhan is fasting Allah's month of Muharram." [Reported by Muslim, 1982]

History

SHURA IN HISTORY
Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, peace be upon him, came to Madinah and saw the Jews fasting on the day of 'Ashura. He asked:
"What is this?"
They said: "This is a righteous day, it is the day when Allah saved the Children of Israel from their enemies, so Musa fasted on this day." He said:
"We have more right to Musa than you," so he fasted on that day and commanded [the Muslims] to fast on that day. [Reported by al-Bukhari, 1865]
"This is a righteous day" – in a report narrated by Muslim, [the Jews said:] "This is a great day, on which Allah saved Musa and his people, and drowned Pharaoh and his people."
"Musa fasted on this day" – a report narrated by Muslim adds: " ... in thanksgiving to Allah, so we fast on this day."
According to a report narrated by al-Bukhari: " ... so we fast on this day to venerate it."
A version narrated by Imam Ahmad adds: "This is the day on which the Ark settled on Mount Judi, so Nuh fasted this day in thanksgiving."
" ... and commanded [the Muslims] to fast on that day" – according to another report also narrated by al-Bukhari, he said to his Companions:
"You have more right to Musa than they do, so fast on that day."

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:
"For fasting the day of 'Ashura, I hope that Allah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before." [Reported by Muslim, 1976]

Qudamah, may Allah have mercy on him, said:
"'Ashura is the tenth day of Muharram.

The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said:
'If I live to see the next year, insha'Allah, we will fast on the ninth day too.'
But it so happened that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, passed away before the next year came." [Reported by Muslim, 1916]

Ubaadah bin Saamit (Radhiallaho anho) reports that he asked the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) about "Laylatul Qadr". He replied: "It is in Ramadhan, during the last ten days, on the unevenly numbered nights, either the 21st 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th or the last night of Ramadhan. Whosoever stands in "Ibaadah" on this night, with sincere faith and with genuine hopes of gaining reward, his previous sins will be forgiven. Among the signs of this night is that it is a serene, quiet, shining night, neither hot, nor cold but temperate as if a moon is shining clear, and no meteors are shot at the "Shayateen" on that night; it lasts until the break of the dawn. Another sign is that at morn, the Sun rises without any radiant beams of light, appearing rather like the moon in it's fullness. On that day, Allah prohibits the "Shayateen" from rising up with the Sun."

Dajal

Asalaamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh

The coming of Dajjal is soon...

When the Prophet had finished his prayer, he sat on the pulpit, smiling, and said,
'Everyone should stay in his place.' Then he said, 'Do you know why I had
asked you to assemble?' The people said, 'Allah and His Messenger know
best.'

"He said, 'By Allah, I have not gathered you here to give you an
exhortation or a warning. I have kept you here because Tamim al-Dari, a
Christian man who has come and embraced Islam, told me something which
agrees with that which I have told you about the Dajjal. He told me that
he had sailed in a ship with 30 men from Banu Lakhm and Banu Judham. The
waves had tossed them about for a month, then they were brought near to an
island, at the time of sunset. They landed on the island, and were met by
a beast who was so hairy that they could not tell its front from its back.
They said, "Woe to you! What are you?" It said, "I am al-Jassasah." They
said, "What is al-Jassasah?" It said, "O people, go to this man in the
monastery, for he is very eager to know about you." Tamim said that when
it named a person to us, we were afraid lest it be a devil.

"Tamim said, 'We quickly went to the monastery. There we found a huge man
with his hands tied up to his neck and with iron shackles between his legs
up to the ankles. We said, "Woe to you, who are you?" He said, "You will
soon know about me. Tell me who you are." We said, "We are people from
Arabia. We sailed in a ship, but the waves have been tossing us about for
a month, and they brought us to your island, where we met a beast who was
so hairy that we could not tell its front from its back. We said to it,
"Woe to you! What are you? and it said , "I am al-Jassasah." We asked,
"What is al-Jassasah?" and it told us, "Go to this man in the monastery,
for he isvery eager to know about you." So we came to you quickly,
fearinthat it might be a devil.'

"The man said, ***"Tell me about the date-palms of Baysan.' We said, 'What do
you want to know about them?" He said, 'I want to know whether these trees
bear fruit or not.' We said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Soon they will not bear
fruit.' Then he said, ***

"Tell me about the lake of al-Tabariyyah [Tiberias,
in Palestine].' We said, 'What do you want to know about it?" He asked,
'Is there water in it?' We said, 'There is plenty of water in it.' He
said, 'Soon it will become dry.'
Then he said,*** 'Tell me about the spring
of Zughar.' We said, 'What do you want to know about it?' He said, 'Is
there water in it, and does it irrigate the land?" We said, 'Yes, there is
plenty of water in it, and the people use it to irrigate the land.'

"Then he said, "Tell me about the unlettered Prophet ' what has he done?'
We said, 'He has left Makkah and settled in Yathrib.' He asked, 'Do the
Arabs fight against him?' We said, 'Yes.' He said, 'How does he deal with
them?' So we told him that the Prophet had overcome the Arabs around him
and that they had followed him. He asked, 'Has it really happened?' We
said, 'Yes.' He said, 'It is better for them if they follow him. Now I
will tell you about myself. I am the Dajjal. I will soon be permitted to
leave this place: I will emerge and travel about the earth. In 40 nights I
will pass through every town, except Makkah and Madinah, for these have
been forbidden to me. Every time I try to enter either of them, I will be
met by an angel bearing an unsheathed sword, who will prevent me from
entering. There will be angels guarding them at every passage leading to
them.'

************Note: Baysan has been ethnically cleansed, so NO MORE DATE PALMS REMAIN, but Wallaahu Aclem*******************

Watch out of the other two : The lake of Tiberias, and the spting of Zughar if it still exists

Important Reminder:

In multiple ahadeeth the Prophet (peace be upon him) told us to seek protection from the Dajjal in the first ten verses of Surat Al-Kahf (the Cave, Chapter #18).

...He who among you will survive to see him should recite over him the opening verses of Surah al-Kahf

AND

Allah's Apostle used to invoke Allah in the prayer saying "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min adhabil-qabri, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-masihid-dajjal, wa a'udhu bika min fitnatil-mahya wa fitnatil-mamati. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-ma thami wal-maghrami

Please pass this knowledge around, jazakallah Khair

Hadith

It is reported that ‘Umar b. Al-Khattâb – Allâh be pleased with him – said:
Whoever exposes himself to suspicion, let him blame only himself for whoever suspects him. He who covers his secret is in a position to choose to correct himself.Assume the best about your brother until what comes to you from him overcomes you and you have to change your opinion. There is nothing nobler than to pay back someone who disobeys Allâh in his dealings with you with the likes of obeying Allâh in your dealings with him.Take righteous brothers as friends; acquire them in plenty, for they are a beautification in prosperity and an aid during calamity.Do not ask about what has not yet happened until it actually happens, for what has happened is enough of an occupation to worry about what has not happened. Let not your speech be given freely except to those who want to hear it and will value it.Do not seek help in fulfilling a need you have except from someone who wants success for you in that endeavor.Do not consult except people who fear Allâh, and do not accompany the sinner, lest you learn his sinfulness. And be humble at the graves.

Delayed Marriage

A marriage delayed is  Peace, Affection and Mercy denied. The evidence is in the verse 31,of Surah Rum : And among his signs  is that He created mates for you from you, and in them you find solace , and He made affection and mercy between you. In this are signs for people who are intelligent

“ how many marriages do you manage to fix up every year”? I  had asked this question to a matrimonial center few years back. “ We have over 500 bio datas but manage to get only 12- 15 people get married”. I thought that his organization was inefficient in fixing marriages, so I cross checked it with a few other centers but the statistics seemed parallel. It’s a truth that the Muslims have started delaying the marriages of young men and women not realizing the harm that it is causing to the community and their deen

If some one wants to gauge the results of delayed marriages then let him study the scattered family life of the West. The Marriages there face stiff competition from legalized gayism, lesbianism, live in relations, open affairs………

An average Muslim youth may not go into these sins due to the social bonds that they enjoy, but there are other equally dangerous secret sinful options due to the suppression of sexual desires. If sexual urge is not addressed at the right age and the  right way then, there are ways which offers shameless  refuge to the youth. This gives rise to porn watching, fantasy sex, masturbation, visiting prostitutes and other secret acts that damage the mental health of a large number of youth.

Islam has protected modesty through halal options. The right age of marriage in the Islamic law is the age of puberty, but in a Non Muslim country like India where the law permits you to get married at the age of 21 if you are a boy and 18 if you are a girl then why prevent the young people from getting married by frightening them from questions like” how will you focus on your career?” or “what will you feed?”  “are you standing on your feet?”  The Non Muslim Gujarati Community gets their boys married by the time they are twenty two, so that by the time this young men finish their graduation and take up the reins of their father’s business or a job their father is still young around 50 and he joins a charitable organization and gives time for the community service. There are no less then hundred such centers superbly run by the Gujarati community’s middle aged young men who have time.

There are a few common reasons for delayed marriages in the society
Boys want to complete their studies and  feel that their spouse may disturb them. Ah! There are so many industrialists, entrepreneurs, sportsmen..... who not only  have wives and children but also multiple  companies, and events to focus on. Many of them even find time to go around with girl friends, yet they flourish. So how can your wife be an obstacle in your prosperity?
Impractical Expectations : With item girls, fashion models and beauty princess rewriting the definition of good looks, every young men hunts or desires a tall, fair and slim girl. “ My Dream Girl” is the title floating in their  minds. On the other hand,  the beautiful girl’s parents will  settle  for men who are rich, own a car, and afford expensive holidays and above all, they must not have many sisters to interfere in the daughters affair. “ after all my daughter is beautifoooool” So the hunt goes on  and  young men wait for money and the beautiful girl wait for rich men.
Lack of fund for Marriage and Rituals: One of the reasons of the Prophet hood of  Muhammed (pbuh) is  clearly mentioned in Surah Ar’af ch 7 verse 157:…. He frees them from the yokes bonded on their necks….. Lavish Walima,  Expensive gifts to the realtives of bride and groom are the yokes in our necks. Islam has made marriage easy. Walimas are not supposed to be hosted in huge halls and invitations are not a status symbol if you cannot afford them. We have elevated these customs but there were marriages in the Prophet’s time when the sahaba did not invite him in their  walimas. !!!!

There can be hundred more reasons  I can write and refute them all, but for time being let me free you so that you may think over it yourselves

Saleh Wife

One of the most famous and most beautiful of these texts was recorded by ‘Abd al-Malik ibn ‘Umayr al-Qurashi, who was one of the outstanding scholars of the second century AH. He quotes the words of advice given by Umamah bint al-Harith, one of the most eloquent and learned women, who was possessed of wisdom and great maturity, to her daughter on the eve of her marriage. These beautiful words deserve to be inscribed in golden ink.

‘Abd al-Malik said: “When ‘Awf ibn Muhallim al-Shaybani, one of the most highly respected leaders of the Arab nobility during the jahiliyyah, married his daughter Umm Iyas to al-Harith ibn ‘Amr al-Kindi, she was made ready to be taken to the groom, then her mother Umamah came in to her, to advise her, and said:

‘O my daughter, if it were deemed unnecessary to give you this advice because of good manners and noble descent, then it would have been unnecessary for you, because you possess these qualities, but it will serve as a reminder to those who are forgetful, and will help those who are wise.

‘O my daughter, if a woman were able to do without a husband by virtue of her father’s wealth and her need for her father, then you of all people would be most able to do without a husband, but women were created for men just as men were created for them.

‘O my daughter, you are about to leave the home in which you grew up, where you first learned to walk, to go to a place you do not know, to a companion with whom you are unfamiliar. By marrying you he has become a master over you, so be like a servant to him, and he will become like a servant to you.
‘Take from me ten qualities, which will be a provision and a reminder for you.

‘The first and second of them are: be content in his company, and listen to and obey him, for contentment brings peace of mind, and listening to and obeying one’s husband pleases Allah.

‘The third and fourth of them are: make sure that you smell good and look good; he should not see anything ugly in you, and he should not smell anything but a pleasant smell from you. Kohl is the best kind of beautification to be found, and water is better than the rarest perfume.

‘The fifth and the sixth of them are: prepare his food on time, and keep quiet when he is asleep, for raging hunger is like a burning flame, and disturbing his sleep will make him angry.

‘The seventh and eighth of them are: take care of his servants (or employees) and children, and take care of his wealth, for taking care of his wealth shows that you appreciate him, and taking care of his children and servants shows good management.

‘The ninth and tenth of them are: never disclose any of his secrets, and never disobey any of his orders, for if you disclose any of his secrets you will never feel safe from his possible betrayal, and if you disobey him, his heart will be filled with hatred towards you.

‘Be careful, O my daughter, of showing joy in front of him when he is upset, and do not show sorrow in front of him when he is happy, because the former shows a lack of judgment, whilst the latter will make him unhappy.

‘Show him as much honor and respect as you can, and agree with him as much as you can, so that he will enjoy your companionship and conversation.

‘Know, O my daughter, that you will not achieve what you would like to until you put his pleasure before your own, and his wishes before yours, in whatever you like and dislike. And may Allah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) choose what is best for you and protect you.’”

Hadith

Ibn Umar narrates: one day I was with the Messenger of Allah (Sal Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam). He then turned to me, held my shoulders with both of his blessed hands, and said: “Be in this life like a stranger or a traveler.”

And whenever Ibn Umar narrated this to his students he would add: “If you reach the evening, do not await (to be alive) by dawn, And if you reach dawn, do not await (to be alive) by evening. Take advantage of your Health before you fall sick. And take advantage of your life, before you die.” – Bukhari

‎"Whosoever rectifies what he does in privacy, Allah will rectify for him his public image.

Whosoever rectifies his relationship with Allah, Allah will rectify his relations with the people.

Whosoever strives for his Hereafter, Allah takes care of his worldly matters"

Valentines...

he story of the Festival of Love (Valentine’s Day)

The Festival of Love was one of the festivals of the pagan Romans, when paganism was the
prevalent religion of the Romans more than seventeen centuries ago. In the pagan Roman
concept, it was an expression of “spiritual love”.

There were myths associated with this pagan festival of the Romans, which persisted with
their Christian heirs. Among the most famous of these myths was the Roman belief that
Romulus, the founder of Rome, was suckled one day by a she-wolf, which gave him
strength and wisdom.

The Romans used to celebrate this event in mid-February each year with a big festival. One
of the rituals of this festival was the sacrifice of a dog and a goat. Two strong and muscular
youths would daub the blood of the dog and goat onto their bodies, then they would wash
the blood away with milk. After that there would be a great parade, with these two youths at
its head, which would go about the streets.

The two youths would have pieces of leather with which they would hit everyone who crossed their path. The Roman women would welcome these blows, because they believed that they could prevent or cure infertility.

The connection between Saint Valentine and this festival Saint Valentine is a name which is given to two of the ancient “martyrs” of the Christian Church. It was said that there were two of them, or that there was only one, who died in Rome as the result of the persecution of the Gothic leader Claudius, c. 296 CE. In 350 CE, a church was built in Rome on the site of the place where he died, to perpetuate his memory.

When the Romans embraced Christianity, they continued to celebrate the Feast of Love
mentioned above, but they changed it from the pagan concept of “spiritual love” to another
concept known as the “martyrs of love”, represented by Saint Valentine who had advocated
love and peace, for which cause he was martyred, according to their claims. It was also
called the Feast of Lovers, and Saint Valentine was considered to be the patron saint of
lovers.

One of their false beliefs connected with this festival was that the names of girls who had
reached marriageable age would be written on small rolls of paper and placed in a dish on a
table. Then the young men who wanted to get married would be called, and each of them
would pick a piece of paper. He would put himself at the service of the girl whose name he
had drawn for one year, so that they could find out about one another. Then they would get
married, or they would repeat the same process again on the day of the festival in the
following year.

The Christian clergy reacted against this tradition, which they considered to have a
corrupting influence on the morals of young men and women. It was abolished in Italy,
where it had been well-known, then it was revived in the eighteenth and nineteenth

centuries, when in some western countries there appeared shops which sold small books
called “Valentine’s books”, which contained love poems, from which the one who wanted to
send a greeting to his sweetheart could choose. They also contained suggestions for writing
love letters.

It was also said concerning the origins of this holiday that when the Romans became
Christian, after Christianity had become widespread, the Roman emperor Claudius II
decreed in the third century CE that soldiers should not get married, because marriage would
distract them from the wars they used to fight. This decree was opposed by Saint Valentine,
who started to perform marriages for the soldiers in secret. When the emperor found out
about that, he threw him in jail and sentenced him to execution.

In prison, he (SaintValentine) fell in love with the jailer’s daughter, but this was a secret because according to Christian laws, priests and monks were forbidden to marry or fall in love. But he is still
regarded highly by the Christians because of his steadfastness in adhering to Christianity
when the emperor offered to pardon him if he forsook Christianity and worshipped the
Roman gods; then he would be one of his closest confidantes and he would make him his
son-in-law. But Valentine refused this offer and preferred Christianity, so he was executed
on 14 February 270 CE, on the eve of February 15, the festival of Lupercalis. So this day
was named for this saint.

hadith

Saheeh Al-Bukhari

In the Book of Ar-riqaq

Hadeeth Number 6463

Narrated bt Abu Hurairah: Allah's Apostle said, "The deeds of anyone of you will not save you (from the (Hell) Fire)." They said "Even you (will not be saved by your deeds), O Allah's Apostle?" He said, "No, even I (will not be saved) unless and untill Allah bestows His Mercy on me. Therefore, do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately, and worship Allah in the forenoon and in the afternoon and during a part of the night, and always adopt a middle, moderate, regular course whereby you will reach your target (paradise)."

On a side note and in a different chapter

Narrated by Abu Hurairah: The Prophet (SAW) said, " There are two words which are dear to the Beneficent (Allah) and very light(easy) for the tongue (to say), but very heavy in weight in the balance . They are: "Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi" and " Subhanallah Al-Azim."

*So, ask Allah to bestow His Mercy upon you.*

Signs of teh hour

The lesser signs of the Hour include the following:

1.The sending of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

2.The death of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

3.The conquest of Jerusalem.

4.The plague of Amwaas (Emmaus), which is a city in Palestine.

5. Widespread wealth and lack of need for charity.

6.The appearance of fitan (tribulations). Among the tribulations that occurred in the early years of Islam were: the killing of ‘Uthmaan (may Allaah be pleased with him), the battle of the camel and the battle of Siffeen, the emergence of the Khawaarij, the battle of al-Harrah, and the opinion that the Qur’aan is a creation.

7.The emergence of claimants to Prophethood, such as the liar Musaylimah and al-Aswad al-‘Anasi.

8.The appearance of fire in the Hijaaz, which appeared in the middle of the 7th century AH, in 654 AH. This was a great fire, which the scholars who were alive at the time of its appearance and those who came after them described in great detail. Al-Nawawi said: There appeared in our time a fire in Madeenah, in the year six hundred and fifty-four. It was a very great fire on the eastern side of Madeenah, beyond the Harrah, and knowledge of it was widespread throughout Syria and all lands. Those of the people of Madeenah who were present told me about it.

9. Loss of trust. One of the manifestations of loss of trust is people’s affairs being entrusted to those who are not qualified or able for that.

10.The taking away of knowledge and the prevalence of ignorance; the taking away of knowledge will occur with the disappearance of the scholars, as it says in al-Saheehayn.

11.The spread of zina (adultery, fornication)

12.The spread of riba (usury, interest)

13.The prevalence of musical instruments.

14.Widespread drinking of alcohol.

15. Shepherds competing in the construction of tall buildings.

16. A slave woman giving birth to her mistress, as is stated in al-Saheehayn. There are several views among the scholars as to what this means. The view favoured by Ibn Hajar is that there will be widespread disobedience among children, so that a child will treat his mother as a master treats his slave woman, with negligence and insults.

17. Widespread killing.

18. Widespread earthquakes.

19. Appearance of landslides, transformations and stones from heaven.

20. Appearance of women who are clothed yet naked.

21. Believer’s dreams coming true.

22. Widespread giving of false testimony and concealment of true testimony.

23. Large numbers of women.

24. The land of the Arabs becoming once again meadows and rivers.

25.The Euphrates will uncover a mountain of gold.

26.Wild animals and inanimate objects will speak to people.

27.The “Romans” will increase in number and fight the Muslims.

28.The conquest of Constantinople.

The major portents of the Hour are those which were mentioned by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in the hadeeth of Hudhayfah ibn Aseed, and there are ten signs:

The Dajjaal; the descent of ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of Mary); Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj (Gog and Magog); three landslides, one in the east, one in the west and one in the Arabian Peninsula; the smoke; the rising of the sun from its place of setting; the Beast; and the fire which will drive the people to their place of gathering. These signs will appear one after another, and when the first of these signs appear, the others will come soon after.

Muslim narrated that Hudhayfah ibn Aseed al-Ghifaari (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came out to us when we were discussing. He said: “What are you discussing?” They said: “We are talking about the Hour.” He said: “It will never begin until you see ten signs before it.” He mentioned the smoke, the Dajjaal, the Beast, the rising of the sun from its place of setting, the descent of ‘Eesa ibn Maryam (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj, and three landslides, one in the east, one in the west and one in the Arabian Peninsula, and the last of that is a fire which will emerge from Yemen and drive the people to their place of gathering.

There is no saheeh text which states the order in which these signs will occur, rather the order of some of them is to be understood from the context of the texts.

Shaykh Muhammad al-Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked:

Will the major portents of the Hour occur in a certain order?

He replied:

The order of some of the major portents is known, and in the case of others the order is not known. Among those whose order is known are the descent of ‘Eesa ibn Maryam, the emergence of Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj, and the Dajjaal, for the Dajjaal will be sent, then ‘Eesa ibn Maryam will come down and kill him, then Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj will emerge.

Al-Safareeni (may Allaah have mercy on him) listed the order of these portents in his ‘Aqeedah, but some of the order is acceptable whilst some of it is not. But what matters is that there are major signs of the Hour and when they happen, the Hour has drawn nigh. Allaah has decreed portents of the Hour, because it is a serious event and people need to know when it is about to happen. End quote.

And Allaah knows best.

Islam Q&A

Anger ways to defeat it

Asalaamu alaykum

1 - Seek refuge with Allah from the Devil:

Sulayman bin Sard narrated:

"I was sitting with the Prophet, when two men began slandering one another. One of them was red in the face, and the veins on his neck were standing out. The Prophet said: "I know a word which, if he were to say it, what he feels would go away. If he said: "I seek refuge with Allah from the Devil," what he feels would go away.'"

['Fath al-Bari'; 6/337]

The Messenger of Allah said:

"If a man gets angry and says: "I seek refuge with Allah," his anger will go away."

['Sahih al-Jami'; # 695]

2 - Remain silent:

The Messenger of Allah said:

"If any of you becomes angry, let him keep silent."

['Sahih al-Jami'; # 693]

3 - Sit down or lie down:

"Abu Dharr was taking his camels to drink at a trough that he owned, when some other people came along and said to one another: "Who can compete with Abu Dharr in bringing animals to drink and make his hair stand on end?" A man said: "I can." So, he brought his animals and competed with Abu Dharr and ended up breaking the trough. Abu Dharr was standing when he saw this, so, he sat down, then he laid down. Someone asked him: "O Abu Dharr, why did you sit down then lie down?" He said: "The Messenger of Allah said: "If any of you becomes angry and he is standing, let him sit down, so that his anger will go away. If it does not go away, let him lie down."""

[Reported in the 'Musnad' of Ahmad (5/152) and 'Sahih al-Jami' (694)]

al-Imam al-Khattabi said: "One who is standing is in a position to strike and destroy, while the one who is sitting is less likely to do that, and the one who is lying down can do neither. It is possible that the Prophet told the angry person to sit down or lie down so that he would not do something that he would later regret, and Allah Knows best."

['Ma'alim as-Sunan'; 5/141]

4 - Smile:

Anas bin Malik narrated:

"I was walking with the Messenger of Allah, and he was wearing a Najrani cloak with a rough collar. A bedouin came and seized him roughly by the edge of his cloak, and I saw the marks left on his neck by the collar. Then the bedouin ordered him to give him some of the wealth of Allah that he had. The Prophet turned to him and smiled, then ordered that he should be given something."

['Fath al-Bari'; 10/375]

5 - Remember the advice of the Prophet:

Abu Hurayrah narrated:

"A man said to the Prophet: "Advise me." He said: "Do not become angry." The man repeated his request several times, and each time the Prophet said to him: "Do not become angry.""

['Fath al-Bari'; 10/456]

According to another narration, the man later said: "I thought about what the Prophet said, and I realized that anger combines all kinds of evil."

[Reported in the 'Musnad' of Ahmad; 5/373]

6 - Remember the high status of those who control themselves:

The Messenger of Allah said:

"The strong man is not the one who can overpower others. Rather, the strong man is the one who controls himself when he gets angry."

[Reported in the 'Musnad' of Ahmad; 2/236, and it is authentic]

The Messenger of Allah also said:

"The strongest man is the one who, when he gets angry and his face reddens and his hackles rise, is able to defeat his anger."

['Sahih al-Jami'; # 3859]

Anas bin Malik narrated

"The Messenger of Allah passed by some people who were wrestling. He asked: "What is this?" They said: "So-and-so is the strongest; he can beat anybody." The Messenger of Allah then said: "Shall I not tell you who is even stronger then him? The man who, when he is mistreated by another, controls his anger, has defeated his own devil and the devil of the one who made him angry.""

['Fath al-Bari'; 10/519]

7 - Rewards for those who control their anger

The Messenger of Allah said:

"Do not become angry, and Paradise is yours."

['Sahih al-Jami'; # 7374]

The Messenger of Allah said:

"Whoever controls his anger at the time when he has the means to act upon it, Allah will call him before all of mankind on the Day of Resurrection, and will let him choose of the Hur al-'Ayn whoever he wants."

[Reported by Abu Dawud (4777), and it is in 'Sahih al-Jami' (6518)]

8 - Remember that resisting anger is one of the signs of righteousness:

{"And march forth in the way to forgiveness from your Lord, and for a Paradise as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous; those who spend in prosperity and in adversity, repress anger, and pardon men. Verily, Allah loves the good-doers."} [Al 'Imran; 134]

9 - Submit to reminders:

Ibn 'Abbas narrated:

"A man sought permission to speak to 'Umar bin al-Khattab, then he said: "O Ibn al-Khattab, you are not giving us much and you are not judging fairly between us." 'Umar was so angry that he was about to attack the man, but al-Hurr bin Qays - who was one of those present - said: "O Commander of the Believers! Allah said to His Prophet: {"Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish."} [al-A'raf; 199], and this man is one of the foolish." By Allah, 'Umar could go no further after al-Hurr had recited this verse to him, as he a man who was careful to adhere to the Book of Allah."

['Fath al-Bari'; 4/304]

...as opposed to how one of the hypocrites reacted when one of the Companions said to him: "Seek refuge with Allah from the Devil," So, he replied: "Do you think I am crazy? Go away!"

['Fath al-Bari'; 1/465]

10 - Remember the bad effects of anger:

'Alqamah bin Wa'il narrated:

"My father said to me: "I was sitting with the Prophet, when a man came to him leading another man by a rope. He said: "O Messenger of Allah, this man killed my brother." The Messenger of Allah asked him, "Did you kill him?" He said: "Yes, I killed him." He asked: "How did you kill him?" He said: "He and I were hitting a tree to make the leaves fall for animal feed, and then he insulted me, so I struck him on the side of the head with an axe and killed him.""

Ashura

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said:

"For fasting the day of 'Ashura, I hope that Allah will accept it as expiation for the year that went before." [Reported by Muslim, 1976]

Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them both, said:

"I never saw the Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, so keen to fast any day and give it priority over any other than this day, the day of 'Ashura, and this month, meaning Ramadhan." [Reported by al-Bukhari, 1867]

Ibn 'Abbas RA:
The Prophet SAW said, "If I remain alive till the next year, I shall also observe fast on the ninth of Muharram." [Saheeh Muslim]

Ashura will fall on the tenth of Muharram, Insha Allah, December 27 if Im not mistaken, correct me if Im wrong.

So this day is very special and it doesnt come around alot. I encourage you all to fast, and encourage each other to fast too.

Dajjal

"The man said, ***"Tell me about the date-palms of Baysan.' We said, 'What do
you want to know about them?" He said, 'I want to know whether these trees
bear fruit or not.' We said, 'Yes.' He said, 'Soon they will not bear
fruit.' Then he said, ***"Tell me about the lake of al-Tabariyyah [Tiberias,
in Palestine].' We said, 'What do you want to know about it?" He asked,
'Is there water in it?' We said, 'There is plenty of water in it.' He
said, 'Soon it will become dry.' Then he said,*** 'Tell me about the spring
of Zughar.' We said, 'What do you want to know about it?' He said, 'Is
there water in it, and does it irrigate the land?" We said, 'Yes, there is
plenty of water in it, and the people use it to irrigate the land.'

Every time I try to enter either of them, I will be
met by an angel bearing an unsheathed sword, who will prevent me from
entering. There will be angels guarding them at every passage leading to
them.'

The Prophets speech on the Importance and knowledge

Mu'ath bin Jabal narrated that the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said the following.
Acquire knowledge, for surely it leads to fear of Allah. Seeking it is an act of worship ('ibadah); studying it is praising Allah; seeking it is jihad; teaching it to whomever doesn't known it is an act of charity (sadaqah); and giving it to its people draws one closer to them. Knowledge points to the permissible (Halaal) and the forbidden (haraam); and it is a shining light pointing the way to paradise It comforts the lonely, befriends the estranged, and talks to you in seclusion. It is a guide through prosperity and adversity; it is  a weapon against enemies; and it is the best of friends. With knowledge, Allah raises people to high stations, making them leaders in goodness, whose steps are traced. Their example is emulated, their opinion followed. The angels like to sit with the people of knowledge, surrounding their wings; and everything dry or wet, -fish of the sea and animals on land, - will ask Allah to forgive them. Knowledge gives life to the heart in the midst of ignorance, and illumines vision in the darkness. With knowledge, God's servants become the elite and reach the highest degrees in this life and in the hereafter. Contemplation with knowledge is equivalent to fasting (sawm); spending time to study it is equivalent to standing at night in prayer (qiyam); duties to relatives are fulfilled by it; and through it the halaal andharaam are known. Knowledge precedes action ('amal) and action always follows it. The fortunate ones attain it and the miserable ones are deprived of it.

What to do after Intimacy
by Sahih AlBukhari on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 1:37pm ·

2. after Intimacy, even if ejaculation does not take place

This is based on the Hadith of Abu Hurairah (RA) who reported from the Prophet (SAW) that he said:

" If he (a man) sits between her four parts, then has sexual intercourse with her, it is incumbent upon him to perform Ghusl."

Authentic Hadith: Al-Bukhari #291

And the Hadith of Aishah (RA) who said: "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:

" If he sits between her four parts, and the circumcised parts touch each other, Ghusl becomes mandatory."

The wording of At-Tirmizi is:

" If the circumcised parts (of the man) passes the circumcised part (of the woman) then Ghusl becomes necessary."

Authentic Hadith: Muslim #349

The circumcised parts: In the male, this is the piece of skin which covers the head of the... prior ro circumcision, while in the female, it is the piece of skin at the top of the pudendum, next to the place where urine is excreted.

When is bathing (Ghusl) necessary?

1.When Al-Mani (semen) is emitted from the body, regardless of whether it takes place during wakefulness or sleep

This is based on the Hadith of Ali (RA) who said, " I asked the Prophet (SAW) about Al-Mazi and he said "It is necessary to perform wudhuu when Al-Mazi is emitted and it is necessary to perform Ghusl when Al-Mani is emitted."

Authentic Hadith (Narrated by At-Tirmizi, no. 114)

And the Hadith of Umm Salamah (RA) who reported that Umm Sulaim (RA) said: " O, Messenger of Allah! Verily, Allah is not ashamed of the truth, so (I ask you) is it incumbent upon a woman to have a ghusl if she has a nocturnal emission?" He (SAW) said:

" Yes, if she sees any (vaginal) fluid."

Umm Salanah said (RA) said: "Does a woman have nocturnal emmissions? He (SAW) said:

Sufyan said that is the worst form of magic, when it reaches this stage." So the prophet SAW said, "O Aishah, Do you know that Allah answered me concerning that which I asked Him. Two men cam and one of them sat by my head and the other sat by my feet.  The one who was sittting by my head said to the other one,"What is wrong with this man?"
The other replied, "He is bewitched."
The first one said, "Who bewitched him?"
The other one replied, "Labid bin A'sam. He is  a man from the tribe of Banu Zurayq  who is an ally of the Jews and also a Hypocrite.
The first one asked, "With what did he bewitch him?"
The other said, "With a comb and a hair from the comb."
The first one said, "Where is the comb?"
The other said, "In the dried bark of a male date-palm  under a rock in a well called Dharwan.
Aisha said, "So he went to the weill to remove it, (the comb with the hair) Then he said this is the well that I saw. It was as if its water had henna soaked in it and its palm trees were like the heads of devils. So he removed it out of the well. Then I, Aisha said, " Will you not make it public"

He, the prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wassalam replied, "Allah has cured me and I hate to spread the news of wickedness to the people."

 Introduction:

These surahs were revealed in Al-Madinah

Suratul Falaq (Chapter 113)

1) Say: "I seek refuge with the Lord of Al-Falaq

Falaq means dawn or daybreak.  Al'awfi reported from Ibn Abbas, "Al-Falaq is the morning." Ibn Zaid and all the others said this is like Allah saying, "He is the Cleaver of daybreak" (6:96)

2) From the evil of what he has created

This means the evil of all created things.Thabit Al-Bunari and Al-Hasan Al-Basri both said "Hell, Iblis, and his progeny from among what Allah has created.

3) And from the evil of darkness when it spreads

Mujahid said Ghasiq is night and waqab refers to the sun when it sets. Al-Bukhari mentioned this from him. Verily it is the night when it advances with darkness. Its is reported that Abu Hurairah said "It is the star" The arabs used to say that Al-Ghasiq is the declination (of the position) of the heavenly body Pleiades. The number of those who were ill and stricken with plague would increase when it would decline and their number would lessen whenever it rose. Ibn Jarir said, "Othes have said it is the moon." Then support for the people who hold this position is a narration Imam Ahmad recorded from Al-Harith bin Abi Salamah. He said Aishah said, "The Messenger of Allah took me by my hand and showed me the moon when it rose and he said, " Seek refuge with Allah from this ghasiq, when it becomes dark.

At-Tirmidhi and An-Nasai both recorded this hadith in their books of Tafsiir in their sunans.

4) And from the evil of the blowers in knots

Mujahid, Ikrimah and others all said, "This means the witches. When they perform thier spells and blow on knots.

In another hadith it has been reported that Jibril came to the Messenger of Allah and said, "Are you suffering from any ailment, O Muhammad? The Prophet, Sallallahu Alayhi wassallam said, "Yes."

Jibril said, "In the name of Allah, I recite prayer (Ruqya)  over you, from every illness that harms you, from the evil of every envious person and evil eye. May Allah cure you.

Allah is ar-Rahmaan of this world and Ar-Rahiim of the Hereafter. The mercy in RAHMAAN is universal.   It is for all mankind, good ones or bad ones. Whether a person believes in Allah or does not, whether someone praises Him or does not praise Him, Allah still grants us Mercy because he is Ar-Rahmaan. Whether someone is Muslim, Christian, Jew, or athiest or whatever religion, Allah, who is the All-Wise and Just, gives rain and sunshine to all. He gives each and everyone equal time (60min/hr) 24 hours a day. There are some unbelievers who blaspheme whenever Allah's name in mentioned (21:36) and doubt the existence of Allah (25:60), yet Allah is merciful to them. But the Mercy of RAHMAAN is valid only for all of us in this world.

A beautiful chapter in the Holy Qur'aan is entitiled AR-RAHMAAN and is addressed to makind and to jinn (CH.55)
